Morenci Azurite-Turquoise Bear Fetish Zuni Indian Carving

Albert Eustace

Morenci Azurite-Turquoise Bear Fetish

Item #
$ 559.99

Large bear carved from a massive chunk of deep blue, sea green and reddish (copper) gem quality, untreated Morenci (Phelps Dodge Corporation mine, Morenci, AZ) azurite- turquoise sculpted in dramatic "semi-finished" form with it's head alertly raised as if sniffing the air, it's left paw scratching the earth, inlaid turquoise eyes and the artist's signature "Albert Eustace" incised very faintly into the underside of the right front paw. Stunning in it's color this is a unique, museum quality sculpture made from a large piece of top grade 10 pound azurite rock that was broken up by Matt and Carol Leo early in 2000 among a number of Zuni master carvers including Lynn Quam, Jeff Shetima, Albert Eustace and possibly Francis Leekya. (note: I turned down $300 in 2001 from a jewlery craftsman who wanted to break this up into jewelry stones). It was originally acquired from Sedonawolf (Sedona AZ) in April 2000. Albert is a recognized potter and cousin of carver Jeff Tsalabutie. Order this rare carving now and experience the pleasure of owning an Albert Eustace original work of art. Signed Albert Eustace. 3 1/2" long- 1 5/8" thick- 2 3/4" tall (head). 100% money back satisfaction guarantee.
