Before her passing (2024) Lena was one of the most prominent and prolific carvers at Zuni Pueblo, she was the grand daughter of the legendary Teddy Weahkee and the daughter of Edna Leki Weahkee both of whose talents had been been passed to her. She was also the mother to Leland and Evalena Boone both highly talented carvers. She carved in the traditional old style with many unusual and beautiful carving materials.
